Still rolling off the miles in revenue service. I photographed this in Sparks Nevada on April 2, 2004. Greg [ 07. April 2004, 03:36: Message edited by: Greg Elems ]
Well, it currently is showing on the web page I posted it to. I also see it here. Maybe the page it was on was down for a bit. If you still don't see it, I can e mail it to you if you like. Greg
Greg- Still only see the red "X." Was able to get the URL, and view it that way. Too bad that some sleazebag had to spray the car. Boxcab E50
I changed the image location, to RailImages, so everyone here should be able to see it. Yes Ken, I'd like to stick the can of paint where the sun don't shine of the sleazebag who painted the car. Greg
Works now. I had no idea that any of these were still floating around. If only it were still the 1960's. No scummy vandals. And a nice, pure CGW car........... Boxcab E50
Well, it belongs to the Hub city Heritage corp http://www.cgwo.org in Oelwein, Ia, so it will stay as CGW.
Nice! BTW, are there ANY buildings still standing from the days of old, where there was a shop run by CGW and C&NW? Also, how much of the track is left these days?
All the Oelwein shops are intact. C&NW closed them in 1993, tho. The yard is mostly there. Transco (a freight car rebuilder that uses the yard, roundhouse, and the car shop) has the yard pretty welll packed with freight cars. The only things that appear are gone are the icing deck and freight house. I can tell you more later, but I gotta get going.
