here's a shot of former AT&SF CF7 #2500 in RCU service at the Sawmill Run Coal Mine in Sago, WV.

I wasn't about to climb the bank and risk being "escorted" off the coal company property. [IMG]

Well worn. What am I seeing on the hood top, behind the cab? Almost looks like some sort of air scoop?

Maybe it is the ATSF early version of cab air conditioning (via an air scoop :D )

I still have a couple of CF7's running around N.C. in service too...

The Kentucky Railway Museum has a CF-7 in Santa Fe paint. It is probably the most used unit they have, along with the Monon BL-2. The CF-7 got new paint a year or two ago, and looks great. I beleive there is a pic at www.kyrail.com.

What is "MCH?" Or do those initials stand for "we can't afford to buy paint?"
