Tom Haedrich posted to the HO forum (of the Atlas forum) explaining business conditions and concepts which affect production of goodies that are released. You might want to check it out. It is posted on 25 May and is entitled "The Business Side of Model Railroading."

I think it is note worthy that his post was put into the HO forum, and not N and O as you would expect (those are the three guages on the Atlas forum). I think his unconscious mistake speaks louder than words, about his priorities.

    Check it out.

I think the fact that he posted at all telling his side (the manufacturer's) speaks volumes. He admits to not being a model rail. I do believe that ATLAS listens to their customers. My proof of that is in the GP38 in both HO and N scale.

Any company that spends $2,000,000 a year on product and tooling developement must be listen to US.

OK ,I'm off the soapbox for the next guy to use.

I will have to check out Tom's post. I think any CEO that takes the time to explain its position to its customers and genuinely tries to please them will do so. I have read past posts by Tom and Paul Graf, and even though they get beat up a lot in their own forum  , they always take the high road. I applaud them and their company for their contributions to the hobby of model railroading.

Having read the post on the HO Forum, I find it hard to fault the man for only posting it once.

Heck, some CEO's wouldn't know their company had a forum, or where to find it. But he took the time to post.

Instead of complaining about him "leaving out" the N-Scale forum, maybe we should thank him for spending their funds to give us ANY space at all on their web site. Remember, web space isn't really free...someone is paying. Keeping the servers running costs money too.

Let's thank Atlas for giving us a forum and obviously listening to us. Way to go Atlas!

My experiance is that many CEO's are amazingly computer illiterate. I have a friend who even brags of it. I suspect Tom doesn't know you can type in MS word and copy and paste in all three forums at Atlas.

I think its great he posted.
