First off you will have to forgive me. I am very new to Model Railroading and don't know a whole lot on the subject quite yet. My husband (of 4 months) is a serious model Railroader. He runs the Milwaukee Road.

I am interested in having a few locamotives and cars. I want to run the Central Oregon & Pacific. I was born in Oregon and raised in Myrtle Point which is only about 30 miles from Coosbay. I have been trying to do reasurch on the different paint schemes that this Company used. The one that has caught my eye is the Red and Grey. I havn't had a whole lot of luck finding pictures. I guess this was not a very popular railroad. I am looking for pictures of and Locamotives and cars that would have run on this line.

My husband likes to custome paint and decal engines and is going to paint a few locomotives and cars for me. thanks...

    CORP

You picked a very cool railroad. I have them pass my office twice a day and you can't get much better when it comes to variety. Besides their regular scheme of Grey and Red, they have a bunch of Lease Units in Purple and Black as well as some SP, CP and IC engines they have bought or leased and added new markings to. Like a Rainbow going by sometimes. We model CORP here so if you have any questions or need directions, don't hesitate to ask. I don't know what scale you are considering, but you can get the decals in HO and N scale from Micro-Scale Decals. Also I believe Intermountian has released the SD-40 in CORP Markings ready to run in N Scale, but don't quote me.

    Welcome to TrainBoard!

I am also a Milwaukee Road fan/modeler. We have a nice little Milw Forum in our Fallen Flags area. It's the busiest of them all.

My brother lived in the Coos Bay-North Bend-Lakeside area for many years. It was an interesting place to visit.

    Welcome Aboard!

The website Owen mentions above is top notch! Many pics of CORP units on the roster. Don't forget, they also recently got a tunnel motor or two and they look fantastic in red and grey! :D

Bout the only time I get to photograph the CORP is when I get up to Weed,CA. Usually several GPs (four axle units) there.

I will also extend my welcome to you...a good part of my family tree is from that part of the world, and we still have a few tree farms down the Smith River west of Drain...

I'd suggest getting yourself a Yahoo membership (if you don't already have one). Once you are set up go into the Groups section and search for CORP...there are 3-4 of these e-mail groups dedicated to CORP. The primary is CORPfan...there are one or two auxillary groups for pictures and files, and then separate groups for CORP motive power and rolling stock. These, along with Larry Tuttle's fine site already mentioned, should get you a long way towards doing what you want to do.

    Happy modeling!

    Good choice [IMG]

And my favorite paint scheme...unfortunately an old LL and no longer running...

I believe that IM is making a run of the CORP SD40T-2 as well although the date seems flexible.

Beautiful road in beautiful country, always loved the Coos Bay area. And Oregon's swell! Don't forget the semaphores!

What scale will this be in?

Hi mntaxidermy ... welcome to Trainboard :)

You can access Yahoo's CORP group by going to the URL that Okane listed above by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and it is listed on the left margin. Good luck! :)

Do you have a Yahoo e-mail address along with the instant messenger? If you do then you are already registered with Yahoo and you can go into the Groups section. If you do not then you will need to go to http://www.yahoo.com and click on the "Sign Up" button.

    I hope this helps.

That's a railroad I haven't shot yet- where are ths CORP shops located, and how often do they get into Eugene? I'd like to motor down I-5 to catch UP, PNWR and CORP action.

We see several red & gray diesels on the DGNO back home in Sherman, but "Digno" doesn't operate in nearly as nice scenery :D

There are 2 CORP GP40-2Ws or whatever the ExCandian units are called down in San Diego. They've been sitting down there in the yard near petco park for years now.

I finnaly found yahoo groups. Took me about 20 minutes of looking but found a Group called "CORPfan" I joined it and I hope that is the right group.

I run HO Scale. My husband is going to custom paint a few CORP engines for me. He ordered the decals about a week ago.

Sorry to make this short. Had a rough day at work and I hurt everywhere:cry: . Going to take some Alive and go to bed. Will post more tomarrow.

CORPfan is the right group! Larry (the list owner and moderator, not the cable guy) has it set up so that he must approve all new members.

CORPfan is the primary group' however, there are others:

http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/CORPpower/ Primarily dealing with CORP locomotives. There are a number of auxillary groups to this one, as follows:

http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/OldCORP/ This is an archive of CORP locomotives before 2005- lots of photos and files.

http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/CORPpower2006/ Dedicated to CORP power in 2006.

http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/CORPpower2005/ Dedicated to CORP power in 2005

And finally, http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/CORPmw/ is about maintenance-of-way equipment and projects.

    Enjoy!
