I am new here, and have tried to search for an example or tutorial, but have not found any. So my question is how to make a load of wood for a center beam flat car. I have one of those plastic ones from Walthers, but it just does not look right. I would like to make them have exposed wood with a wrapped version on the top. I saw a picture of some that were all wrapped for a z scale car, but I am looking for HO. If someone could kindly point me to a thread that tells how to make them or give some quidance here that would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Alan

I just finished a N scale load using lumber units from CS Models in North Vancouver BC and nope I have no intrest in this company and not sure if available in HO . The kit comes with pine blocks cut to 8',10',12',16' units prototypical size and coated paper wrapers with ficticious company name . My fingers are pretty sore from all the xacto work but now my 70 foot center beam UP is complete and it remindes me of the summer I spent loading and hooking the same cars for Riley Creek Lumber in Laclede Idaho. The first month there, we shipped 12mm board feet of lumber via rail ( 1995 ) . I got the kit off ebay . If you want , send me an email and i will try to send some pics.

I made my own for several n scale cars using a balsa block. I made wrappers using logos I found from photos on tje internet which I stitched together in a Page Maker file. I used lines in the software to simulate ties. I printed the wrappers and wrapped the balsa with it. You can simulate the bare wood with the photos. Mine are all wrapped.
