Good afternoon...I have a Con-cor E8A loco and would to put the shell on either a PCM or Kato mechanism. Will this shell fit without any modifications? I know, you are probably asking why I want to use this shell. It is from The BN Executive set and I would like to at least get a real nice runner, but would like sound as well if possible. Thanks in advance for any help with this.
I was able to put a Con-Cor/Rivarossi shell on a PCM E7/E8 Mechanism without any problem. The only difficulties you're going to have is dealing with the Pilot and Fuel Tanks... you will have to cobble up something using the Con-Cor parts as the PCM Unit has a different arrangement for the Fuel Tank and the Pilot is body mounted. Same for the Kato mech which should also fit. Be very carefull taking apart the PCM E7... it is easy to damage the headlight connections. Charlie Vlk Railroad Model Resources
