You know, I was on here last year , complaining about a problem I was having with my cat and my pike, but I have been browsing sites a lot lately, and couldn't help noticing there are a lot of us who live with or have cats and layouts coexisting. I have a new one, now, Tomitom, who replaced his mother, Spirit, who finally became one for real. He is really with it as to the pike. He sits and watches and wonders what more I see in that contraption than I do him, but basically leaves the works alone. I guess all good things really do come to him who waits? Anyone else out there have a cat sucess story?
He has grown but that is the new little she that was recently adopted to keep the other one company. Here's a side by side comparison:
Charlie, Mr. & Mrs. I presume????? Look out for a ton of kittens. They look preculiar, if you ask me.. Then you'll have kitty power all over the mainlines! Then the "C"hessie Systems "C" relives again! [ 19 December 2001: Message edited by: 7600EM_1 ]
My entry for the caption competition (on the first/top picture) is: "NOW you tell me there's a 50k limit?"
Charlie, they sure are good models (the cats). How do you get them to pose like that? Next you'll be teaching them how to photograph each other.
Now I don't have a cat but my dog seems to think he is one! He loves cats and when we visit anyone with a cat or two our dog just loves to curl up with them and goes into a grooming routine. Now my dog is a big Dalmation weighing 95 pounds and it is funny to see him acting like a cat. Unfortunately, it takes quite a time for cats to learn to trust him
I was going to ask Charlie how he got matching cats, but the cat's got my tounge. Oh well, I'll let the cat out of the bag with my story. My one cat drove me crazy when my layout was made of wood but now that it's made of "pink board", he isn't the least bit interested! The female has never been interested in either one.
You can order a matched set. (though apparently not with transparent backgrounds.) Charlie [ 19 December 2001: Message edited by: E-8 ]
Hmmm, maybe thats why my layout isin't getting done, I don't have a cat! Maybe if I got a cat I could motivate myself to go dig the ditch so I can put the conduit in to power the garage so I can heat it so I can move my trains out there so I can bring the other bed over from my folks. As you can see, everything around my house revolves around that ditch. This could be the answer to it all!
I offer: "Now get this Charlie - No Pizza and Beer until you FINISH that page! My new assistant will be monitoring you ... !"
Ok, now we got the Adimistaratives, administration! HA! I guess the Cats gonna keep an eye for all those mices running around for all us members this Chrsitmas so the cat and the mouse was stiring all through the house! Whats that I hear? A train? what? I'm gonna kill thoses 2! HA! Ok, so we got Tom and Jerry all over again in the trainboard chat!
Maybe that's what happened to MY layout / cat problems. I tore up the old wooden layout and built a new on using mostly foam. You know, I heard that stuff can give off fumes humans can;t smell (which is why it's good to use ventilation when cutting or glueing the stuff, I suppose). Maybe the cats just don't like foam?
To avoid cats on the layout, take off the billboard reefers such as the Purina car. LOL. To avoid mice, leave off the Kraft car.
