Anyone have any pictures of the car float or ferry in Richmond CA. It was shut down some time in the 60's and was on the SanteFe line.

Actually, any detailed pictures of any carfloat or rail ferry would be OK... but the one I really want to model is theone in Richmond.

    Thanks!

Hi, Sean, and welcome to trainboard. I did some searching to see if I could fins some information for you. There does not seem to be much to be found, especially in the line of photos. Have you searched old threads here on TrainBoard? It seems to me there was some discussion related to car floats on one of the modeling fora two or three years ago.

There is a SANTA FE HISTORICAL SOC. , and a BN&SF sector on this group.
Johny Teichmoller' s Rail-Marine Interest Group publishes journal on named subject so search
    the site for relevant issue(s).

THe Golden State Model RR Museum, featured a few years ago in MR, has: Santa Fe ferry models, is online, and in Bay Area to visit.

The San Francisco Maritime Museum has vast holdings in their library and archives that you can
    visit during business hours.

Thanks for the tips guys! As a matter of fact, I drove down to the old ferry slip and it looks like there is some sort of restoration goingon there!! Perhaps in time they will have some photos as well.

Again, thanks for the resources! I will dig in to them!

Here's one of Santa Fe's first Tug, 'Richmond' with a car float.
