Well the good news is that I purchased most of the track needed for the plywood central. The bad news is that I was using two feeder tracks and one of them quit working......the problem is in the feed mech itself after close inspection. So.....I am moving forward by soldering some of my own leads (which I was planning on anyways). Now if I only owned a decent soldering Iron. My old soldering Iron is a beast and I decided to retire it. As a result, no train operation on the Plywood Central for about three weeks nows. :(

I was looking at one of those inexpensive Radio Shack digital soldering stations. It costs about $70.00 Anyone know if this is worth buying?

    Bad News 2.0:
My main workstation (computer) died. I also had to rebuild my Internet (web) server. So between a shortage of time lately (read military life) and redirected cash flow into my computer empire.....the Plywood Central is slow going.

This is a little frusturating as the Plywood Central is supposed to be my quick "filler" layout until I was ready to advance onto the full layout. I know there is no real time line as this is a hobby.....but geeeez, I just want to run some trains [IMG]

Needless to say, I have not done much planning on the full layout layout lately due to that time issue again. I may end up doing some limited scenery on the Plywood Central if progress continues to be as slow going as it has been lately.....one downside, the Plywood Central does not offer a whole lot for operations....anyone know an "in" to win the lottery? [IMG]

Excuse my vent......just had to release some steam (no pun intended....well ok maybe I did intend)

    Man can I relate!
The radio shack irons work just fine. I would suggest getting an extra tip or two. Seem my tip just kinda disintegrated after a while [IMG]

There is a bright side though. You're a lot closer to running trains than you were 6 months ago! :D
