When I try to upload pictures I get this message. - Adding 200402232100499999.jpg Resizing/compressing original image No resizing required Error: Unable to make thumbnail (0)! Need help? Look in the Gallery FAQ What's up with this?
When I accessed Railimages, my photos show up, but the vote and edit boxes are blank. Sometimes they show up in a fixed position and do not move when you scroll down. Is this and Jon's problem symptomatic of the bandwidth problem that has been occurring?
We recently upgraded the software to rail images but have been having server problems with not all software working hopefully this will be resolved soon

I Have noticed another problem that appears to be only an occasional problem. Ocassionaly a previously uploaded photo on the abum will not completely load again when accessing the album. I had this happen once when I first laoded the photos, one photo after being nice and clear for several days, became blurry next time I accessed the album. I fumbled around and managed to clear it up then. Had it happen today again. The thumbnail was blurry, but when I clicked on the picture to view the larger version it was clear. I could not clear up the thumbnail not matter what and ended up deleting it. It appears if I want to retain that picture I will ahve to go back to my photo CD and reload it. If this occurs again what are my options to correct a once clear thumbnail now turned blurry.
We are having a software prolem and the support service that we contract to work on such things are working on it. Be patient with us. This may be a problem until Monday. Charlie
John, by any chance are you using an "accelerator" provided by your ISP? I recently installed one, and last night discovered that is part of my problem with not only Railimages but other sites. ALL photos are pixellated using the accelerator, with patterns showing up on them, or blurry appearance. It also seems to cause problems when two connections to the net are open, as is the case when you load and transfer photos from Railimages to Trainboard or elsewhere.
If I am I don't know it. But then I have AOL and they are constantly tweaking something that usually only half works when they mess with it. I did try to copy two of my photos to attach to an E-mail witht he result that the guy couldn't open them up on the other end. It was right after that that I noticed the thumbnail had blurred for the subalbum. However this wasn't the subalbum, the pictures were copied from. I solved my problem in this area by going back to my photo CD and pulling the copies from there. Which brings me to a question regarding photos and bandwidth. In that regard is there any advantage to using subalbums over just posting to the album in conserving bandwidth? If I reduce the size of the stored picture on my CD or computer before transferring does that have any effect? Or is the software here regulating the size? John Moore
In addition to the 'thumbnail(0) problem suddenly appearing, I had a problem changing the Highlighted photo. When I changed the highlighted pic, my album cover had a message reading - no highlighted pic. I was only able to change the pic back to the original highlighted pic. I still have the thumbnail problem. Jon
I am going to start working on our problems folks. I was away for most of the weekend working so I was unable to devote time to the problem. We will work on it today as long as it takes. Charlie
Yes, I think I have it working again although there may be some lingering problems. If users note any problems, please post them here. Thank you, Charlie
Hello All, I am a new member, here and on railimages. My problem is I cannot access the add photos or photo drop down menu, It will highlight, and will show in the box. But nothing happens, no box, no screen change, nada. I don't have a popup blocker, I am using Netscape, 4.6 and 7.0 neither of these browsers work. Anyone have any suggestions??? Rob de rebel
Rob, welcome aboard. I have had problems accessing my own files at Railimages. Try repeating your command three times. For me, usually the third time the menu will respond. Let us know if this works.
Rob I read your post on Atlas glad you got it to work but I have to see why it wont work with Netscape
I might have access to one or both those versions this weekend so I will see what I might learn and post the results when I have them.
Gained access to Netscape 4.7 (Windows 95) and have had all sorts of issues. </font> Image and Desription don't line-up (picture down 1 full image size while description is OK)</font> Unable to login (verified password correct via IE browser)</font> Seeing browser error: "JavaScript error: Type 'javascript:' into Location for details"</font> Top and Bottom "Page" missing lines and various labels</font> Basically you are toast ...
