ive got a digitrax zypher (first edition) and im following the manual on how to MU my two locomotives. i get it set up and everything doesnt error out but one loco is pushing harder than the other. do both decoders have to be set at the same acceleration rate or something (shouldnt be right?)? thanks!
Speed matching is the key! Speed, acceleration and deceleration closely matched will make life easier. What locos are they?
Very rarely will two engines set to the same values act the same. Figure out which one you like better and adjust the CVs on the other engine until the two will follow each other at a 1" spacing without coming together. Then they are speed matched. You may have to adjust the starting, mid and top voltage of the second engine.
See this thread http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?119369-Speed-Matching-Problem It may help
wow i thought MU of consecutive locos was automatic following the lead loco. but i guess this makes sense.
