Can this be done? without spending a million $ ? I got 5 small engines from a computer i destroyed. ? It is just a thought..
*ponders* A loose box would likely be problematic, e.g. a bump to your table would knock the box out of the loop. You could possibly try physically attaching the box to, say, a thin black thread in a loop, place a pulley wheel inside the box car as well as under the table, under the building and inside the building. One of the pulleys could be powered, moving the loop. You could put more than one box on the thread. Parts from an old meccano set may do the trick, for example: http://www.usmeccano.com/parts/23avariants.htm
i agree with tim, above, one continuous loop with boxes at intervals would allow them to come out of the conveyer, into the car (stationary and secured to the scene), under the scene and back into the building, to the conveyer again. simpler to build, operate, etc. yes, i think it's doable. dave f.
That would be a real neat project Henrik. I think like Animek shows would be easiest. Maybe you can hide the underside of the conveyor with a loading dock on one side and a dumpster ont the other ot something. Great project idea! -Robert
This same concept of conveyors can be used to move ice blocks around an icing platform and a secondary conveyor to move blocks of ice into wooden reefers. The blocks of ice could be easily made from clear styrene strips or clear cast resin material. Conveyors leading away from the ice house, and conveyors leading to the refers. Would be a difficult assembly do to all the working parts (coveyors and belts to drive them. Just a thought! Tim
