caboose hobbies it appears will not be moving but closing instead, looks like cost to relocate is more than is economical given the current economy.
I visited there once in the early '80s, back when they had runner 6 packs, and blister pack kits of "The Cadillac of N Scale". It was the largest train store I had ever visited back then, and their N Scale selection was phenomenal. I also went inside the World Trade Center. My favorite hobby shop of all time was Little Bit Junction in Boise. Things I can never do again. All good things come to an end someday, so we should enjoy them while we can. Got a hobby shop in your town? Visit them regularly, even if just to say Hi!
I was able to visit Caboose Hobbies twice, 10 years ago. Living in the Netherlands, it was awsome to see so many Us trains in such a big shop. There I bought my first US z scale locomotive MTL UP GP 35, which was my start into US z scale. Hopefully someone continues Caboose Hobbies as a web shop. /Frank
Bought some Z scale stuff there as well. In the late 90's. Sad news. BTW, as I understand the main reason is owner's retirement, no chance to see someone else taking over? Dom
Okay....very carefully here. There seems to be this well known place...just east of the Rockies....some folks call it CH. May be that someone bought this old place. Might be moving it to a new location. If you understand and have any interest, you might want to look it up on the algore.
Yes, they closed because of owners retiring. Yes, the store is under new ownership. Yes, it will reopen somewhere in metro Denver. When and where is unknown at this time.
There was some hints in the original posting by Keith, in the advertisement, stating the orders would be honored but not specifically by whom. Sometimes you just have to read the tell tales. Let us know about the new store and location. Don't forget an e-mail address. Thanks for keeping us appraised.
