AKA, GEVO's! Here's UP 5697 arriving in Cheyenne today: I really had to workt he image to get it to show the crazy-large radiators, but the shot is jacked, from low-light,a nd vehicles blocking the shot. I didn't care, there's only FIVE on UP! [ 10. September 2004, 05:11: Message edited by: HemiAdda2d ]
Hemi, I got a "not so good" photo of #5699 about three weeks ago in Oregon! Definitely hard to catch.
Feel free to share, can't be much worse than the backlit, overexposed, photo-chopped, cluttered roster I bagged above....
UP has ordered 200 C45ACCTE locomotives from General Electric, to be numbered UP 5354-5553. These should begin arriving in early 2005.
Jim, I thought this order was for the new series ES44ACs?? Same numbers. Similar appearance just newer(production)version??
I think that they call this unit several different things depending on who owns them. Gevo, 44???, 45???, E's, s's, AC's still the same unit. It has me all confused
Guess we'll just have to wait and see what the "official" UP designation is eh? You never know with UP.
The last word that I got was UP calling them C45ACCTE's and NS calling them ES44AC's. It has me all confused
Hemi, Here it is. Told ya it wasn't so good! UP has designated these C45ACCTE. Don't know about any other roads. [ 11. January 2005, 01:29: Message edited by: Scott Stutzman ]
Let me clarify. The first five UP has designated as C45ACCTE. I was under the impression these were the demos. The new order for 200 would be the production units and called ES44AC????? Totally different number series as indicated by Jim earlier. Maybe UP will call them all the same thing? Also, the original article I read stated that UP ordered 200 ES44ACs. Can't remember where I read this but believe this is the order Jim is referring to. Along with these, UP ordered a bunch of SD70ACe units. [ 11. January 2005, 06:12: Message edited by: John Barnhill ]
