Discussion of C&O prototypes for the Concor N scale "Standard Steel boxcar" http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?139461-N-Scale-Freight-Car-Prototypes/page9 Some of yoiu C&O fans may know a lot more and may be able to correct any errors.
Wow, that is a lot of research. I will try and add a little light. Here are pictures of the Con Cor boxcar in question. The blue over yellow car is a LCL car which stands for less than carload.below is a shot from the C&O historical society. The carbody type by Con Cor is wrong, but that is nothing new for Con Cor. The other car is another story. Although the reporting marks are 15382 I have been unable to find a photo C&O of a boxcar in that series. It appears to be a PS-1 boxcar which the C&O had in several seies. The first series was the 15000 to 15999 series so the numbers at least are correct. The doors are six feet wide. This information came from the C&O Historical socity CD with all the newsletters on it. Also from a book published nt Morning Sun publishing by DAvid H. Hickcox, pages 23-25. Anymore questions let me know. Below is a Microtrains C&O 40' boxcar. Similar to the ConCor car
