Am looking for merger dates for two predecessors. When were the Sioux City & Pacific RR, and the Fremont, Elkhorn & Missouri Valley RR merged? I have seen suggested seperate dates for these of 1901 and 1903 respectively. Are these close? I had thought SC&P was 1900? Also, weren't they first taken into the Chicago, St.Paul, Minneapolis & Omaha RY? Then the C&NW? Boxcab E50

hello, according to "Northwestern Lines" 150th special timeline. It lists the absorbtion of the Freemont Elkhorn and Missouri Valley as being Feb 28th 1903. There is no mention of the Souix City Merger but I'll keep looking to see what I can find.
Does it tell whether the FE&MV went directly into the C&NW? Or had anything to do with the CSt.PM&O? Thanks!!!! Boxcab E50
It is only a small timeline piece, and basically says absorbed. So on that I would have to say straight to the C&NW. There is no mention of the SC&P, so you might be right about it going to the CStPM&O, I might go for a hunt around the web and see what comes up
As per www.cnwhs.org FE&MV merged to C&NW, which basically had de-facto control over the company before hand I could only find the St Paul and Sioux City mentioned and it was absorbed by the CStPM&O in 1881
