I've decided to build a showcase module. This is going to be something I can take outside to experiment with new techniques and natural lights for photography. I began construction from leftover foam core art boards of a previous podium layout and arranged them to get a 42x10 inch module. I glued that all together, let it sit overnight, then carved and spackled the result. You can see there, I beveled the front edge of the 1/2 inch foam core base. I'm going to implement a scenic fascia. It will only be slightly beneficial here, but the idea behind that is to add perceived depth to the foreground. By putting scenery on the fascia, I gain ground for scenery, with out sacrificing real space.
