Did the B&S RR become part of the B&O? Eventually part of it going to the Wellsville, Addison & Galeton? Boxcab E50
Ken, found this info. Hope it helps. "In this maneuver the B&O was to acquire the BR&P and also the Buffalo & Susquehanna Railroad and the Mount Jewett, Kinzua & Riterville Railroad. The Van Sweringens (Alleghany Corporation) acquired the Wheeling & Lake Erie and on January 1, 1932, the B&O formally took over the BR&P.* (Sounds like it was a swap of railroads). It doesn't say if the B&S was actually merged into the BR&P or the B&O. It appeaers that they were all merged together into the B&O. It seems that the B&S was under B&O control from 1930-1932, and was officially leased to the B&O in 1932.
Just saw this Ken, and thought of you and the B&S questions you had. This book by Pietrak is the definitive work on the B&S, and should answer any questions you may have on the line and it's history. Good luck, Bill B&S book for sale
Bill- The B&S information page you linked is interesting. The part listing stations on the line has me curious. I have a 1907 train order copied at "C.F.Jct." Which should be Cross Fork Junction. It sets up a meet at "Cherry Spring." (Both in Pennsylvania.) Neither of these are named in the stations list. Wish I had more room in the budget. I'd check out that book! Boxcab E50
