It can't be done now but some years ago I took the BC Rail Budd RDC's from Vancouver to Prince George and return. It's was a all day trip both ways leaving at 07:00 and arriving the other end at 21:30. The scenery was fantastic as was the train crew. Got a cab ride from just out of Vancouver to Lillooet. No food service which I didn't know so I about starved on the north bound run. Filled my pockets with granola and candy bars and jerky for the trip south. Saw lots of Alco locomotives when we passed freight trains. A great trip no longer available. Canadian National took over BC Rail about fifteen years ago.
