I have been under the bridge at Lind many times on BNSF trains and I am wondering what happened to the MILW bridge there. Was is scraped, or was is salvages for somewhere else. What about other bridges that were removed? Also can someone provide a pic of the bridge at Lind?

I know that some parts from removed bridges in Montana have been re-used. But none in Washington come into mind.

There is a picture of the bridge at Lind, in Stan Johnson's "Western Extension" book.

Nice photos! I should have taken the time, and spent a day there. I never was in Lind, when there was a train crossing that bridge. Underneath. But.... Oh well.

Very interesting mix of steel & concrete. I really like the concrete colonades at the approaches.

There's a BN-era photo from the trestle remains, looking at the trestle piers, and a BN train. The trestle is gone. The photo is in Leachmann's Northwest Passage.

And also, in a Trains magazine two-parter about the closing of the old SP&S line, there's a BN freight going under the remains......with a Milwaukee Road SD40-2 on the head-end!!!

Wow, I'd have to go thru about 5 boxes of mine to find it. I think the story was called something like," From two way, to one way, to no way". I'll try to look.
