Hi all, I own 1 of these sets and have a couple of questions to anyone else that has this set. First question- this set came with drawbars to connect the cars together and I have no intention of using them. I've tried the 905 MT couplers but they uncouple due to the weight of this set. just looking to see what others have done. I tried using the body mount coupler from the plow of my SD70 and with a little grinding got it to fit and it works really well. sadly getting 16 plows is not an option and Hanz is tring to track some down for me. just wondering what others have done. second question - do your articulating car seem high in the middle? if so how did you correct for this problem. I run mine, just as they are. The E7's pull them with ease however, since the gear mesh is incorrect, they don't like turning to one side (gear hop). Worse on Z-Bend Track radius (9-10"). So, they just get set up once or twice a year, to look pretty.
And pretty they are. Sadly I missed the E7 release and as far as getting a set might as well look for the nearest unicorn for sale. But wait , the new E8s will look really nice pulling them or so I hope. trying to mod a AZL budd car drive train to fit in the single cars. I'm hoping 2 powered single cars and my GS4 will pull the set. currently stuck at shortening the drive shafts, aside from that it fits good. talking to a guy with a 3d printer to make the shafts so we will see. once I get it working I pass on a build log to you if you want. Either way any special build parts I will make extras.
Dave, sounds ingenious! Keep me posted on the drive shaft concept was that could go beyond this project. I am hoping the new E8's will allow me to run these more often.
Sadly the feed style 3D printer did not do too well at this size. looks like I need to find (or buy) a SLA style printer. SLA has MUCH better res. Also with SLA might be able to produce entire under carriage with motor mount. will keep you posted. I just bought 2 more of these sets waiting for the E8 release if they don't pull the set I'll find a way to make them (inset evil laugh here)
Dave if you have drawings, I have SLA printers. Don't expect super fast service as they are unused as yet. James

Thanks for the heads up but I had to back out when I was outbid at $5510. still 3 days to think about it but think I'll wait till AZL releases the injection virsion.
