Hi Guys and Gals, hope to find a nice home here. I'm working/planning a multi level layout in a 9x11 room. Not sure if I'm going HO or N. N looks nice and I can get more from the room in that scale. I had toy trains growing up, I like the newer diesels, never really was into steam much. Most likely my layout will be CSX/NS or a would be modern Sea Board Atlantic/Coastline.

    Thanks

Welcome aboard, Bob! I vote for N-scale (not that I have a vote, but hey, why not). :)

Hey Bob, Welcome to the TrainBoard, we're glad to have you on board our fun-loving "train". I'll tell you, N-Scale is by far the best for a 9x11 room. My area is 8x11 and I've had a lot more fun creating a two-branch rural railroad with N than I would have had with HO. Just so there's no mistake, I started with Lionel O in the 40s, switched to HO in the 50s, then to N in '81 and never looked back. Though a magnifying shop lamp sure does help big time....:tb-wink:

    Hi Bob and welcome!
I am going to be cantankerous. I vote for ho scale. I have 9X10 room. I decided to put a 3 1/2 X 6 ho layout in my room. I went ho because I want DCC and sound. I just think sound does not cary over too well in N scale. Anyway, that is my opinion

    Howdy Bob!

I have a large area myself for building in (something like 22'x26'?) when I finally have time (fulltime student, 2 kids, etc...). Despite that, I'm voting N as well. I like looooong runs and N gives the best bang for.. uh... foot :)

    Welcome to TrainBoard!

As a long time N scaler, I am a bit biased. Really, I believe for the space you have available, N is the best "fit" possible. :)
