Back in April this year, I was lucky enough to be able to spend 4 days in Winslow, Arizona as part of the 2006 Winslow Roundup Free-Mo gathering. Whilst most of the attendees were inside the Amtrak depot running trains, I spent most of my time trackside trying to photograph almost everything that rolled by along BNSF's Transcon mainline.

I'm attempting to document these 4 days for the use of intermodal railfans and modellers, and as such, I'm pleased to present to you:

So far there are 10 galleries uploaded to the site, all from the 1st day at Winslow - Thursday 20 April 2006. There's still more to come too. At this stage the galleries are all intermodal, however I'm considering adding a couple for motive power and manifests if time/space permits and there's a demand for them.

Please note, being the first day, the photos aren't perfect (There's a pesky lightpole that makes numerous visits - is there a filter for that???), but thats to be expected when half the trains were flying through town. The suns not always in the right position either, but what are you going to do when they're only accessible from one side of the tracks? Even so, they've been included for completeness, so modellers out there can get a full sense of what was on the BNSF for April 06. I have tried to capture the doors/front walls of trailers/containers where possible, because I know how much they help.

I hope these photos are of help to you modellers out there, especially all us fans that live overseas and can't see this action down at the local grade crossing etc.

If you're in the area, feel free to come along and attend next year! A stay at the La Posada is worth it alone!
