Just wondering where they are at? And if anyone still heard anything on how BNSF likes them. I hope they plan on ordering at least some more of them. I bet those 3 are getting lonely in the mist of all the SD70MAC'S running out there. ------------------ Keep on railroad'n
Weren't they in service in the Northwest somewhere? I don't know how similar the AC44 is to the Dash 9, but all the BNSF engineers i've talked to hate the Dash 9s but i doubt the railroad cares about crew opinion...
They are pretty simular in design. The AC is a longer engine though and of course they are AC drive units. They both use the same horsepower rated engines. I still don't see the BNSF buying 3 with no intent on buying more of them. Unless they send'em back to GE with a junk sticker on them. I am a big EMD fan and I think the crews got spoiled by the MAC's. ------------------ Keep on railroad'n
Look how BN was with their first SD60s though. And those B32-8s as well... They might just end up being the only ones, but i kinda doubt it.
The SD60MAC's were an order of four. And they order the next series up the SD70MAC's and they still haven't stop buying them. The ones like SD60 8300-8302 and the B32-8's are at there testing faclilties GE and EMD being test loads for some other new locomotives. Or some are sold to leasing companies. ------------------ Keep on railroad'n
