Had a very encouraging phonecall from Sellafield the other day about My 'Pet loco' BNFL No 2. Before I retired I had broached the subject of it being donated to the Eden Valley Railway at Warcop when it was displaced and retired by the introduction of th Clayton Battery electric Bo-Bos.

    Looks like it is on

It is a Thomas Hill Vanguard/Valliant 0-6-0DH powered by a Cummins N14 and I have known this loco since about 1988 in various forms

The team at EVR are really looking forward to it coming and I have offerd to act as liaison between the charity and Sellafield to get it moved and also to train the team on how to drive and maintain it

Looks like I have got a big retirement project to go at!

Oh, and our Brooklyn can't wait to drive it!

The original BNFL colour scheme looking a bit shopworn

Brooklyn is already asking what colour we are going to paint it and whether we are going to name it?

    Good question,

Got a phone call yesterday, It's ours!

Should be out off site before Christmas. With a ton of spares including some I wasn't expecting like a couple of brand new torque converters. I'm going to be cheeky and ask for a spare 350HP Cummins N14 that is lurking in a store somewhere on site as well

    finally.

Loco 2 left Sellafield this morning and was unloaded at Warcop this afternoon. SadlyI couldn't be there because of my broken ankle but my old friends at Sellafield kindly took some pictrues for me

    The weather was rotten

Going to be busy as soon as I get this damned pot off my leg

The original radiator cowl still sits in the maintenance shed at Sellafield and I'll see if we can have it
