I used to see uncovered Boise Cascade woodchip hoppers cary chips from Horseshoe Bend to Emmett Idaho, after a guy standing high on the chip loader sprayed water over the chips!
Didja have to put the white stripes on the NP car?? It is grafitti. It only appeared in the last couple of years. Otherwise those NP cars had just gotten dirtier. If you want to be really up to date, alot of the BN/NP/GN cars now have GBRX reporting marks. That is real tough to look at. Real nice work! I wish I had something like that running here. Only a box of track and dreams. (sigh)
Yeah, I wanted to put those stripes on at least one car for Jeff, who loves graffiti. I think the railroads must have done those stripes for some reason.
Here is a new car to the train, but I have not had time to weather it, having only found a few minutes to make a woodchip load last night. This represents the Ventura County Railway (Golden West Service) 60' car. I could not find measurements for this car, but it might actually be a 63' car with the same mesurements as the newer smooth side woodchip hoppers. Anyways, I took modelers license on this one until I can track down measurements, and added it to my train as it is a different body style, because I like the looks of them and they were commonly seen on such trains.
Looks excellent! This proves Robert can do two things at the same time. How do I know this. Well, according to Robert, while he was participating in Sunday's ZCS chat, he also was lazing this, and no doubt other VCY beauties!! Looks good Robert!!! Hobo Tim
Excellent work. You are making me go into the woodchip business, and definetly don't let Loren see it. You know how much he likes Golden West.
Actually, the railroad painted those stripes on the NP cars for better grade-crossing visibillity I read somewhere. Great job Robert, looks like some of the trains I see around here!!:teeth:
