Hi folks! It's been a while since I last haunted this forum, but before the prototype police take me away, and throw out the keys, let me plead my case. When, in the latest NSR magazine, I saw the Milwaukee SD90MACs in MU with a fuel tender, I had to duplicate it. I had a few undec. Kato MACs, and decided one would look cool in BN Tigerstripes, like the Geep 50's, SD60's and SD40-2's in 1985. The result is a believable rendition of a BN loco that never was. BNSF really should buy about 300 of these... The loco was finished in BN gren, and engine blck from Floquil, and MILW orange from Modelflex. The stripes are masked, as the decals are too small to cobble up the nose stripes. Microscale decals for the 1985 experimental scheme locos finished the model. The number on the cab commemorates my and my wife's wedding anniversary. Gloss cote from Testors seals the decals, while freestanding grabs, antennas, GPS dome, and MT 2004 couplers round out the detailing. See my pair of topics in the N scale forum for more info, and poll on what I should paint the next 2 MACs. Let me know what you think!!! The pics are in my projects link in my signature. 'Njoy'!
WOW! I am shocked... As I really am not kean on the BN tiger stripe, but it looks really good on the 90MAC, I think one would look good in the same scheame that the DF40-2's was painted. http://www.trainpage.com/tBn/images/bn7890.jpg
Mmmm I love it I love it I love it, you doing any more? Wish they would keep that paint scheme around.
