Hi. On locophotos.com someone posted a picture of BN's 1991 red, white and blue Freedom caboose, taken just over a week ago. BN 12618 still looks pristine after the last 16 years. Probably the cleanist piece of former BN rolling stock in the fleet. http://www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=20356
Freedom Caboose If the photo is recent it is amazing the caboose is in such great shape. Even more amazing is that it hasn't been rattle-canned with gang scrawl like a lot of railroad equipment. I've the Atlas model here and run it sometimes. Anyone know about the Freedom locomotive?
The matching SD60M, BN 1991, was repainted into BNSF H2 colors several years ago. It's now BNSF 9299.
Note the location it was shot: Dickinson, ND. There's very little for gang activity there! I am amazed too, that it is in such good shape!
Wow, that is in good shape. Those Atlas cabooses must be pretty rare...I've looked for one for a while and not even seen one. (hadn't looked real hard though) I wish Atlas would do the Freedom SD60M, that would be a purchase.
