    Well,

I recieved some of Craig M.'s stuff today, or Best Looking Models Around's stuff.

It came in ther mail rather promtly, in a letter size enveloppe, but due to the size, and weight of the details this was not an issue.

When I opened up the envelloppe I was pleasently suprised to find some littrature in it showing helpful tips, and what he currently has available, what is coming, and what is hoped to come... It was very nice, and was very clear to read. Helps alot so that when you go to put the stuff on your loco you have a better idea of what to do.

I received a package of SNOW DEFLECTORS, and a package of EMD long hood doors.

First, I will review the Snow deflectors.

The snow deflectors came in a small bag, as all his stuff does, and included a very nice touch. A close up of a prototype snowdeflector on a CNR SD40-2 it looks like. Craig had painted them black for me as per request, and they had a smooth coat, but it had chipped alittle during transport. The deflectors all differed in size alittle, but I didn't find it that bad (I still shaved them). However, I should note I didn't find that on my own, Craig told me! There was only one that was too bad to just install, as it was about three milimeters bigger than all the others (the rest were with in .5 mm of each other). To install you have to shave off the grill behind the cab, but that shouldn't be a big deal... May just take alittle time. as for the prototype I think that there should have been a well in them, but am not sure, I will have to check up on that.

If you would like to see a picture of the snowdeflectos installed on a unit, E Mail me (BCRailKing@Canada.com), or Craig (CraigM111@aol.com) and ask to see it.

The EMD high hood doors were nice, but the back wasn't smoothly molded. It will require shaving. I am yet to actually fiddle around with them yet, and they still await painting so I really can't comment to much on them.

I do not believe there is a picture available of these dors, E Mail Craig, as he may actually have some that I don't know about.

I am very happy with the product, and on the Dane-O-scale would give it a 9/10.

    Reviewed with permission from BLMA.

    Happy Railroading!!

Craig M did a C44-9W for me a while ago in BNSF Heritage II. It is a butiful engine and he added lots of great details to it. I have yet to order any parts from him but I will proably send him another engine to paint for me, he does great work.

    Well,

Here si the stuff that comes with the details, you may find it nice to have some of this info

    SNOW DEFLECTORS
    "EMD STYLE"
Thank you for purchasing this N scale
    detial part from me.

The detail it's self is cast
in resin and there for can be
    glued, sanded, cut, ect.

    To mount, cut off the
    existing grills behind the cab.
Sand smooth and glue on the snow
    deflector. The deflector should
fit with the same angle as the
    cab.

If using a "Geep" type locomotive
, it may be necessary to cut
the deflector down to proper lenght.

    Again, thank you for purchasing
    and "N" Joy!

I receved a Anticlimber Kit from Craig at BLMA today. Heres my review of intstaling it on a Kato SF SD40-2.
After a little file work to clean up the resin mold, and driling the handrail holes out with a pin vise it was ready to be placed on the engine. In order for it to fit properly I had to cut the handrail off and file the walkway back till it was flush with the pilot. In order for the anticlimber to sit properly I had to scrape off the molded on lever on the pilot. After that was done i glued the anticlimber on using regular testors glue. After it dried for a while I painted the anti climber ATSF blue and touched up the pilot. Included with the anticlimber was a Handrail (stock atlas for the SD60.) this fits nicely in the holes and looks great. This whole procedure took 30 Minites to do and looks great.

    Thanks everyone!

Before this gets out of hand, I "gave" Kevin the hand rails because I had extra, at the moment they do not come with them but I am looking into it. Being into this my self I know how hard it can be when kits don't come with everything needed so there for I am looking into this. Thanks!

No problem with the hand rail thing Kevin. I wish I could cast hand rails but I don't have the equipment to do something that fine.

Maybe this is something for me to look into......eh?

Personally, I wouldn't worry about the handrail casting, Craig. If the Atlas railing will do, then supply that. They seem to have plenty of spares on hand at any time.

The Atlas SD60 hand rails fit PERFECTLY in the anti-climber, but remember that there is a difference between the SD60 and 50 hand rails.

Also, thank you Charlie (and other moderators) for cleaning things up!! Much appreciated! [IMG]

The SD50 model has the 'pointed' anticlimber?

I'm assuming the SD60 has the later EMD std anticlimber then...
