I finally have my BLMA engine detail set and cut lever set. I really wanted to do the cut lever set first, but I am having hard time drilling through the etch metal on the GP39. I decided to do something a little easier. I install the rearview mirror and the cab shade. it was as easy as one, two, three. The only thing I am glad is that I am far sighted, so I have really good vision of up close stuff. The first picture is the cab shade and it also shows the see through fans.

The second picture shows the rearview mirror, and my messy hobby table. Maybe we should start a messy workshop competition. I guess Randy and Tim could give me some stiff competition.

I will add more detail to the engine as time permits, because they are really great stuff. Craig sure makes great detail set. I am doing my part, and buying all I can use. That reminds me that I need to order some fore fans. After installing those fans, I can't have a engine without them.

    Sweet!

But I thought far-sighted meant you couldn't see close up, and near-sighted meant you couldn't see far away. ;)

are the detail sets available now ? great, I have to detail some "GP38 look-a-like" GP35 (or vice-versa ;) ) and the detail kit would be a nice touch up with all the other modifications I'm doing on this little buggers... ;)

Thanks for the great feedback guys! :)

The detail sets are not yet available though a few folks got my test samples (I had a few favors to give back). The production run will be here around early October and these parts will be available at that time.

To appease those of you who want to get your hands on these as soon as they come out, we've updated our website to allow you to Pre-Order the new products.

Well guys, I have added more of the details to my GP39. I was fortunate, CSX paint their cut levers yellow, which shows up well against the black pilot. I also added the mu hoses.

Yeah, me too. I used to add the wires individually, but as soon as the detail sets are available I will use them. I can't wait. I only wish we had a 36" fan available too!
