No, this wasn't shot on some inactive spur- this 101-year-old piece of rail, rolled just three years after the Wright Brothers first flew at Kitty Hawk, is part of what was once the Texas & Pacific Transcontinental Division line through Sherman, and now part of the Dallas Garland & Northeastern. Shot in front of the former T&P freight depot in Sherman.
Nice find! As I stand around trackside waiting for trains, I often look at rail and have seen/photographed some pretty old rails. Another interesting aspect of our hobby.
