MILW Billboard Lettering date?

    Hi all,

    Can anyone tell me what year the MILW started applying the billboard "Milwaukee Road" to the long hoods of the locomotives?

    The first units were some new SD40-2's. I don't have a book in front of me. Memory says those were delivered about July of 1973. Thereafter everything new came w/BBing. Starting about Spring of 1974, they began adding it to older units as they were shopped.
