Nobody being hurt is certainly a big plus. I am happy about that.

Otherwise, it stinks for the rest of us.

Arizona Rock and Mineral poor taste Facebook post deleted.

Looks like its deleted. In Short, Philip Anderson, of Arizona Rock and Mineral posted a comment on the facebook page about the fire that said "Have you ever tried Arizona Rock and Mineral?". This has to be one of the crassest, low class, poor taste, moves I've EVER seen someone pull. The post deserved to be deleted out of respect to Woodland Scenics but I sort of wish it was still there to showcase the bad form of Mr. Anderson.

Even if you are someones competition, you DON'T make a comment like that. That is just a low blow!

If as you describe, if it was really that person or some representative, I doubt you'd find anyone who'd disagree. :(

    Seen on another forum
    "Dear all,

As you may have heard we have experienced a fire here at Woodland Scenics and there is good news and bad news. The good news is that no one was hurt during the fire or evacuation process. The bad news is that it took out a couple of our manufacturing buildings. However, and fortunately, there is more good news than bad.

We encompass multiple buildings that are spread out all over the town of Linn Creek. We only lost two of those buildings and those two contained just a small portion of our manufacturing facilities. Our shipping department, warehouse and corporate offices were spared any damage, as were most of our manufacturing buildings, so it is business as usual.

    Thanks for all your concerns.

    Respectfully,

    Gale Cousins
Director of Sales & Customer Service
    Woodland Scenics"

This has to be as good a news as can be expected under the circumstances.

Which is too bad because I REALLY like ARMC ballast. It is much finer than WS ballast and even spreads nicer too. However, with a statement like that, I am going to have to reconsider buying ARMC products.

ARMC Should be boycotted just for that comment. It was not cool, low class, and dirty. You do not attack your competition when they just had a fire.

Well that is good news to hear that they are down but not out. For my friends who are not even train nuts, its what I've done with the Woodland Scenics scenes that they love to come over and checkout what I've done new.

    Here's to a speedy recovery!

I thought your earlier comment about "fire( ) sale........" was a bit "low class" as well. JMO

The difference is, I didn't plug my own product. Yes I made a joke, but I wasn't maligning them at all, I'm still sad to see it happen. ARMC didn't even say "We feel bad for you" they just plugged a product.

Well.........as my grandma used to say "two wrongs don't make a right". I think the comment by Phil A. was in extremely bad taste, but so was your "joke"..........not as bad, but still inappropriate. I'll leave it at that................

So relieved to see that WS wasn't a total loss. I pray for a quick recovery so they can continue to pay their employees. I am also happy to hear that I will still be able to purchase their product in the future!

Of course they will recover quickly :) Because I'm sure every employee will do their best to make that happen. I really am too glad to still be able to buy their products. I love their dry transfers so much

Glad to hear things aren't as bleak as they first appeared for WS! Still, I hope all goes well for them as they try to put things back together.

As far as ARMC goes, I feel an apology on facebook and on any forums they belong to, would go a long way to help their image and reputation!!
