After several trainless decades, I'm hoping to build an awesome n-scale layout in the game room of my new condo in western Virginia. Hoping to include a drawbridge (so that the train(s) can cross a room entryway without completely blocking full-scale humans like myself from getting around the room). Also hoping to add cool miniatures and features, including tunnels and bridges, second train, etc. -- and especially n-scale lights (stoplights, house lighting, illuminated crossing gates, etc.) to make the layout especially eye-popping at night. Got lots of questions, of course -- like how to go about the lighting bit, for starters. But there's certainly a will, so I'm sure that there's a way -- with a little help from my fellow "trainees,"hboy: that is (doh). Thanks!
Welcome to TrainBoard! Almost anything is possible these days, so what you've detailed certainly can be done!
Welcome aboard! The drawbridge idea sounds like a cool way to get in and out of the layout room. Please keep us informed of your progress.
Enough ideas there to keep happily occupied planning, building and tweaking for a good long time. Good luck and we're glad to have you with us!
Welcome! Im new myself and been absent from the hobby for 10 plus years. Are you doing dc? Or dcc? Ive noticed with dcc there are pluses but some negatives. Good luck! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Hi BQ, Welcome back! Isn't it amazing the changes that have happened? I saw something you may want to think about with your drawbridge, you might consider some type of lock-out so a train doesn't run off the layout. With what stuff costs these days it will probably be worth the effort. have fun! Dale Baker
