    this an oddball question, but has anyone read or have any knowlege if there was a particular engine of either of these classes that was a better steamer than the rest. in one of my nickle plate books, it clearly states, more than once, that berk no. 763 was the best, "best in the west," 2-8-4. i remember reading in trains when 1218 was being revived, that is wasn't the best A, or the worst. i have another book, "the railroaders" where several engineers, of various roads stated that two identical engines would steam different. thanks..
