Great Have you done some conversions Hemi? How hard are they? I have about five I bought in BN for the Wife. Digitrax is in my future. I second Fluid Dynamics, for the money these are great locomotives and the mechinism is perfect for my chop nose Paducah Geep's.
No more $16 blow outs on those. LL was selling them directly and it more than $50, free shipping was included. They really had an overstock! I'm DCC'ed them and they run great. I used a Digitrax DZ-123 wire decoder (about $16, yeah same price as the loco ). You need to lose the rear lightboard and cut some of the frame away. You will also need to cut a channel on the top so you can run the wires to the motor and front lightboard. Since this is a split frame design it's quite easy. A friend of mine used a TCS M1 decoder and he was able to preserve the rear light. He did one for me but I haven't looked inside yet as to how he did it. The M1 is a smaller decoder. He also did another one for me where a LED becon was added to the top of the roof under F0 control! Nice!!!! Here's a glimpse as to what you need to do: http://www.nscalesupply.com/Base/Digitrax/LLGP20/DecoderInstallLLGP20.html
Sheldon - Keep in mind GP20s are not "modern". There are probably a bunch around though on the prototype. You can get FA/FB1 both powered for $40 a pair. You can use them for cheater box cars and such. These are at BLW.
