If you ever want a fun RR job I would recomend a good starting place with BCR would be a host on BCR's Royal Hudson. It gets your name around, and if you are in your late teens or early 20s it has sweet hours!

    Happy Railroading!

END OF THE LINE FOR HISTORIC STEAM ENGINE
Rae-anne Morin) - It could very well be the end of the line for the train that has become almost synonymous with the romance of
BC's history on the rails. For years, the Royal Hudson has been carrying both tourists and locals from North Vancouver to Squamish, giving them a taste of the magic of steam travel. But the high cost of maintaining the magic may silence it forever. She's affectionately known as the "Lovely Lady of Steam", but now it seems the famous Royal Hudson 2860 is out of steam. It lays in pieces at the BC Rail yard. The heart of the engine, its boiler system, is rusted out and needs a major overhaul.
The Hudson locomotives received special recognition in 1939 after one of the engines brought King George and Queen Elizabeth from Quebec City to the west coast during a Canadian visit. Impressed with the trip,
the king decided all Hudson's should carry the royal name. Number 2860 spent 16 years working the rails between Vancouver and Revelstoke before it was retired to the scrap yard. That is, until BC's first NDP government bought it for the tourist run in 1974. But now a huge repair bill could mean this piece of history may never ride the rails again.
While the government decides the Royal Hudson's fate, tourists will still be able to have the steam train experience this summer. BC Rail's back-up engine, the Port Coquitlam 3716 has taken over the Hudson's
    run, and maybe permanently.

Gats, I am not trying to be rude, sorry if that is how you percived it [IMG] No, the only reason I said that is when I was watchin TV the other night, that came on, and I said "Oh no! The end of my vollunteer career?!?" So I did remember the words fairly well. Then I read that article and it ticked in my head that something was very familar about it [IMG]

Sorry if you took that wrong!

    Happy Railroading!!

No problem, Dane. I took absolutely no umbrance to your post. Morin was the name on the message sent. The email I received originated in Maryland, so it could been rewritten by Rae-anne Morin on the east coast US and published in a newspaper there. I would take a local in BC as being the original author over anyone else. [IMG]

Regardless, a sad state of affairs for all involved.

    Gary.
