Hi there, my name is Leonard Woolgar and I have been working at Baultar since 1991, Many of you who have crewed in CN, BNSF and CSX Locomotives may already be familiar with some of our older Crew Seats. I would appreciate any assistance in finding a Web Site that would allow me to trace the Build Dates from GE or EMD Locomotives when I have the Road Numbers and/or Serial Numbers. Thanks for reading this and I look forward to many informative future exchanges with all of you.:uhoh:
Hi Leonard, Welcome. Sounds like a fascinating 24 year career that has "touched" many people. Unfortunately I was not one of them. The only seat I was allowed to occupy was on the right side of a B&M Consolidation in 1949, and that was only for 2-1/2 miles on an unoccupied passing siding when nobody was looking beside the engineer, fireman, and head-end brakeman. I wish you luck, sounds like an interesting research project. Please keep us posted.
Welcome aboard, Leonard, but I am sorry I cannot help you with your request. Try posting it in other forums here. I am sure that there are crew members here who may be able to help.
Welcome aboard Leonard. A quick Google search revealed this and I would presume that you can find similar for GE Locos. Good luck and enjoy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_GM-EMD_locomotives
I have seen sites where they have large numbers of prototype photos uploaded, and some of the information will include a builders or serial number. But most of the time I do not see a built date included. I have browsed around some, and am not finding places also with built dates.
