I don't consider "Barf Bonnet" a very ugly paint scheme. I think what makes it so horrible is the fact that it has "Burlington Northern Santa Fe" spelled out on it. I think that if it just had the typical "BNSF" on the side, it would not look as bad. After all it is BN green and cream with the SF Warbonnet, a true merger scheme.

    Go ahead and attack me!
I know all of you hate it.

I think this is the best looking paint sceem out of all of them on the BNSF. I wish this paint sceem was used instead of Heritage I and Heritage II. It really combines both sceems from both roads.

Not all of us hate it. IN FACT It happens to be my favorite locomotive. In fact since BNSF only decided to paint one of it. I had to go buy it in brass from Overland. Needless to say it is on top dead center on my T.V. in my living room. I hope to see it again before it is repainted in to the H2 scheme. The last time I saw it. It looked like it is pretty close to it needing repainted. For those who did not see my past comments on this loco. It burn't up. The top portion of the loco paint is cracked and burn't off. Hate to see it repainted but it looked real bad.

Well, I have to pipe in on this one. I'm a big fan of the Barf Bonnet! [IMG] Hope I get a chance to see it in person sometime. Just get the feeling that the pics I've seen just don't do it justice. I like it so much that Craig is painting a N-scale version of it for me. [IMG]

This is better than I thought. I think "Barf Bonnet" is a very cool scheme. I thought I would get attacked posting this, but it looks like I am not the only person who feels this way!

I for one think the scheme is ok. Definately not on the top of my priority list though. Since it is only one unit, i took a liking to it so much that i purchased an undec Overland brass unit to paint in the scheme. Once i got the unit home i realized that it is a 9400 class MAC. So i suppose i must wait for the company to repaint the 9400`s orrrr, paint it as a BN unit. As far as attacking you, not as long as you post intelligent comments or questions regarding BNSF, but i must admitt, i do Hate your screename. Show us REAL BNSF fans some respect and report in as PUfoamer1. As for Kevin, what do you expect from your girlfriend, as you may or may not be aware of, this scheme was designed by a woman.

I'm not too keen on the Vomit-Bonnet-- the Heritage (or Pumpkin as it's sometimes called) scheme looks much kewler [IMG]. I like the H2 or P2 better than P1. The large yellow "BNSF" herald on the hood & the cigarband on the nose sorta reminds me of my beloved Santa Fe [IMG]. The Cream/Green scheme is also a kewl scheme too.

the barf bonnet is never referred to as heritage 1 or heritage 2. it is a very rare "one of a kind" engine. although it might not be the type of paint scheme that would be good for a whole roster, but for 1 engine i think it is cool. but it will most likely be in heritage 2 before the year is over. it's current paint is in very bad condition. so see it while you can.

There were two pictures of the Barf Bonnet (or Vomit Bonnet, if you prefer) posted on alt.binaries.pictures.rail yesterday. Evidently it was at Ravenna two days ago.

UPfoamer1, I NEVER said that Vomit-Bonnet is Heritage Scheme.....You read it wrong. But ok, lemme explain again. I merely stated that I was not, am not (and probably will never be) keen on that scheme (i.e. I do not like it). If you or others like it, that's kewl [IMG] more power to ya. However, I AM a fan of the Pumpkin II .....*ooops* I mean Second Heritage scheme as I think it's the best out of all current BNSF paint schemes. And besides, the name "UPFOAMER1" tells me that you're a "UP" fan --- why are you chasing behind "BNSF" trains? Maybe you should change your name to "BNSFfoamer1".
    ......Just my opinion.....

The front loco in the picture is the Grinstein green and cream scheme. The second loco in this consist is the Heritage 2 or Premium Heritage scheme ( 2 different names for the same paint job). The Vommit bonnet ( or barf Bonnet) is a one of a kind paint job that literaly combined the most recent SF and BN paint schemes at the time of the merger. It was only ever meant to be a one of a kind as far as what I have ever heard. What was done was to take the Grinstein green and creme paint colors and use the Warbonnet pattern to create the paint scheme. I hope this helps to clarify your confusion.
You can find a picture of vommit bonnet at this web address: http://archive.trainpix.com/BNSF/EMDORIG/SD70MAC/9647.HTM
