While sorting through some older photos, I found some pictures taken of a Bangor and Aroostook work car, once a wooden baggage car from the early 1900's. I decided I "had to have one" so I bashed a "looks a little like it" work car for my own use. The original: So, I bashed one that sorta looks a little like it: [ 17. Very nice work! What was your starting point? They look like the Bachmann Oldtimers? Happy railroading! Russ
I can use one of those. The one I have, the stove tipped over on a quick stop to avoid some Bison and burned a hole in the top and one side. (Soldering iron slipped) lol
Thanks for the kudos, guys. It started out, indeed, as two MDC old time "shorty" baggage cars. I used truss rods and trucks from leftovers from my 68 foot passenger cars bashes, the truss rods originally coming with MDC's 50 coach kits. They bash very nicely, too, into longer wood side coaches. Suggestion to Telegrapher: bolt the stove to the floor and don't light it with a soldering iron! [ 21. I must look out for some of the old time MDC cars. One of those would look great on a siding on my layout
Dick. That's really a handsome car.The weathering is just about perfect. Not too dirty, not too clean. The older you get,the better you get. Commissioner [ 19. September 2003, 07:59: Message edited by: PLATINUM LINE ]
