I caught this consist just after it crossed the Mississippi river into Iowa at Sabula. One more The CP took over former Milwaukee trackage from the IC&E here so hopefully there will be more sightings like this.
Nice pic Hemi. That was my first ever sighting of anything still in Milw colors and the Soo geep was a bonus too. Jim
That's why you never paint anything with latex paint :tb-wacky::tb-wacky: I also have some MILW shots that I took in Topeka, KS back in the 1980s (runthru on UP), but I'd have to scan them.
Looks like the dynamics have been removed but not the blister intakes - note no fan. I'd like to see a roof shot of this.
I do not remember how many, but yes, the Milw did remove some dynamics. Not abck fro what was suppsoedly junk. Just helps to show the whole "bankruptcy" thing was a stinkeroo deal. Boxcab E50
And then, right after CP bought SOO, they installed dynamics on some SOO SD40-2s. Soo' actions regarding their Milwaukee power seem rather short-sighted.
I caught one in the Franklin PArk/Bensenville yard as I was heading to O'hare a couple weeks ago. I grew up a mile or 2 from the Milwaukee tracks and near the old C&O line that SOO used to use to connect to Franklin park and this was the first time I'd ever seen a Milwaukee painted unit. Everything about the end of the Milwaukee was short sighted.
