What's prototype for NP in the Northwest, and what do you recommend in N scale brand-wise to hit the nail on the head? It'll be laid around Atlas code-55 and mostly fall scenery. I like reds and yellows.....
Where I grew up, the branch lines used a lot of pit run for ballast. Even the crushed stuff was similar color, which seemed to be various grays with some quartz in it. Boxcab E50
