My Atlas commander has a bad board and i need to send it back to Atlas. I was wondering if instead of sending it back would it be wiser to get a dcc system tyhat does more then what the Atlas commander does. I was thinking of getting a zephyr next month when i go to the springfield show. Any suggestions.
IF the Atlas is under warranty by all means get it fixed.... At least you could sell it or keep it for a backup, or? If it requires repair for $$, then going to a Zephyr might be the right decision. The only thing that keeps me from switching over is that I also have the handheld unit for the commander and will not run on a Digitrax system. I too am looking into the Zephyr and find it most interesting. The biggest selling feature over the atlas is the loco recall - dial a number instead of using + or - keys. Plus you can expand it. Current internet pricing for these is around $150 - which realy insn't a lot. Hope this helps
