The two trams are just two more examples of the colorful trams in Amsterdam! The Puma one was shot in front of the Modern Art museum, with the Van Gogh Museum just to the left.

The equipment at the museum is still a bit of a mystery to me since there was no descriptions in English, no one around to ask and it was bone chilling cold out. After a 20 minute walk from the bus to the museum and just a half hour inside before heading to the outside displays, it made it difficult to really stand in one spot and soak in the atmosphere. When the natives tell me they are cold, it's cold. It was cold as hell.

The red engine was photographed in Amsterdam Centraal Station. It has the markings of the NS, but I don't know why it's red.

The shot of the parked trains, were taken in Amstelveen through our train window. I saw that 3rd rail subway alongside another tram line. I was able to catch that scene through a dirty window.

    Russ, I owe you man.

More great photos JT [IMG] I have never seen one of those locomotives in red, either, I wonder what the story is with that?

I *think* the red is the NS-Cargo livery for freight loco's, but this one isn't marked up for NS-Cargo, (I think they are called something else now, Railon? or something?) and it's on a passenger train?

    Glad everyone liked the photos!

Can't wait to go back. Going to combine the next trip with Amsterdam and Bergen, Norway so we can ride the Flam!
