Anybody have one yet? Key question: how do they pull? Any reviews would be welcome! [IMG]

I think that they are already in the LHS' and many of the etailer recently got them as well. There was some concern about the pulling capabilities because it also does NOT have a traction tire (ala LL 2-8-8-2 mallet). They probably will be as well detailed as the LL unit, but, if the past performance issues of the LL mallet are any indication, this one may also be a poor puller. I'm waiting to see the replies as well, and hoping for a better result than the LL mallet.

I just received a notice that mine is on the way. The Christmas display layout is still up so we will be able to rin them as soon as they arrive.

When I get mine from WigWag, I'll run it through some tests and compare it to my my LL 2-8-8-2 (mine pulls well). I'll post the results here and on the Atlas forum.

Mine's on its way. Now that I have a test loop, I can compare it against the likes of the Connies, the Mountains, the Berkshires and Mallets. The Mountains are the only ones that have disappointed me with pulling power, but they also haven't been broken in. For some reason, the decoders in them don't like DC from a Tech 4. I'll have to put them back on the programming track, and see what's up.

I've found the Berks and Mallets pull better than reported after a thorough break-in. The Connies are draught horses--now that I've fixed the traction tire on the wobbly one, it's really smoothed out.
