After favorable reports about the preproduction models shown in Milwaukee I gave it a try and ordered the N&W version from a dealer here in Germany. It arrived last Friday, and I am pleasantly surprised. Great handrails, good detail, blackened wheels, no traction tires, good pickup, and all this in what seems to be their standard range. The motor is a bit noisy, as if they tried to resemble the FM opposed piston engine, and it seems to have no flywheel, but it is running well. The only thing that I have to change is the coupler. These Bachmann knuckle couplers are a bit low. I still have to check which MTL coupler to use. My conclusion: if you consider the price my personal opinion is that it is kind of a bargain. But please check yourself. :lightbulb:
Thanks for the review. I'm starting to get this thing for non-GE and EMD locos. Depending on the price and future available funds I might check them out. Do you know if they are DCC friendly? Eric
