I wish that one of you fine people that own a Bachmann 4-6-0 would measure it and tell me the length. The Arkansas & Louisiana Missouri, which my Arkansas & Louisiana Midland is based on, had several Baldwin 4-6-0's. In the little "What if?" world of my A&LM, one was kept and is used for excursions. The Arkansas & Louisiana Midland was actually the forerunner of the Arkansas & Louisiana Missouri. I intend on bashing the Atlas roundhouse into a reasonable facsimile of the Arkansas & Louisiana Missouri roundhouse that was in Monroe, LA. A&LM Roundhouse In order to finalize placement of the tracks for the turntable and the roundhouse I need to build both of the structures and shorten the length of the roundhouse from its standard length of 10" so that it fits better on the layout. I won't have my 4-6-0 for a few weeks and I don't want to cut the roundhouse too short so I would appreciate the help. Thanks!
Coupler to coupler is just over 5.5". I would say 6-6.5" deep stalls would be fine. 6" will be safe for up to the Bachmann 2-8-0. 6.5" would be good for a Kato Mikado.
