Has anyone put a working coupler on the Bachmann 2-6-0? Quite a while back I was told that the Kadee HO offset coupler with the shank on the bottom would work. Anyone out there done this yet and what coupler did you use? Greg
Can't help ya there Greg .. sorry. I have not tried that yet. Some years ago I invested in a Kadee Sample Test Kit, which has one of each coupler that they make in it .. at least up until that time The point is, it has been a real help for me to install couplers and match them to odd equipment. ------------------ Bill (#16) "Get Goosed on the Yreka Western"
Well I did some digging and found this reply about a working front mounted coupler. I copied it directly and pasted it. >I need to make a change to the original. A bit of filing to the BOTTOM of the Bachmann coupler boss is necessary for proper height. Simply saw the coupler off, mount the Kadee, trim the opening on the "Cow Catcher" and there you go. Enjoy, Ed Reutling I have yet to try it. I have to make a trip to the hobby shop and will pick up some #39 HO couplers and see. Thought someone on this list might find it interesting. Greg Elems
Greg, Thanks for taking the trouble to post the fix. You never know who will come along and thank you for it. A lot of times, scale makes no difference, just how it was done. ------------------ Jim Harrawood #85 Utah Rails Wyoming Rails D&RGW---Main Line Thru The Rockies
