A GM G12...these units were also export Models. They've been nicknamed "Baby-Geeps". The G12 generated 1200 hp.

CN 991 is seen here at Deerholme on the now abandoned Cowichan Subdivision. Photos by Gordon Hulford.

That's an interesting looking unit! I always enjoy seeing more uncommon units :D ( I guess thats why I liked the Southern Railroad ).

I hace seen those units before (or pictures of them), and rather like them. They are just a bit different from the norm [IMG]

I like that CN scheme, anyway!

The two G12's(991 and 992) worked Vancouver Island until they were retired in 1976.

G12 992 was used on the last train south of Deerholme in 1972.

    Looks like EMD's answer to Alco's MRS1.

Does this so-called "Baby Geep" come with gauge-adjustable trucks/ like the Alco versions do?

No, it's GM's export model. The G12 did not have adjustable trucks as EMD also built the MRS1.
