I have been researching the B&O Wheeling Pittsburgh Sub for the past few years. Photos of Wheeling are hard to come by but there is one person who documented the steam era. His name is JJ Young. After his death in 2004, railroad enthusiast and photographer J. J. Young’s sizeable collection of negatives came to the West Virginia State Archives. The collection consists of more than 2,000 images, most of the B&O Railroad in northern West Virginia, principally the Wheeling area. This collection was processed during the year and contact prints were made.
